Great Is His Unfailing Love 24 Sep 2024

Read: Job 42: 10-17

Verse: " Though He bring grief, He will show compassion; so great is His unfailing love." (Lamentations 3:32)

Sometimes in our Christian lives, when we go through sufferings, we become shattered. But let us be encouraged. Surely there is an end for all our problems, for men are not cast off by the Lord forever. (Lamentations 3: 31) Joseph had to go through the path of suffering when he was just a seventeen-year-old teenager. For thirteen years, he encountered problem after problem. But the Lord did not forsake him. He showed him His mercy and exalted him to become the governor of Egypt. Consider the life of Job. He underwent great agony physically and mentally. But after this period of suffering was over, Job experienced the unfailing love of God more than ever before. Job 42: 12 says, "The Lord blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the former part," and verse 16 says, "After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation."

Dear friends, let us not be disheartened as we walk through the valley of suffering and sickness, because these are the days when God is so close to us. Instead of looking at the problems, let us open our spiritual eyes and see our gracious God walking along with us. He has promised in Joshua 1: 5, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you." And in Deuteronomy 31: 6, He has promised, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." He who has promised is faithful. So let us trust in His unfailing love, hold on to His promises and come out victoriously.

Prayer: Almighty God, as I walk through this path of suffering, I trust You and hold on to You with hope. I am confident that these trials are only for a short period, and that your grace surrounds me, keeps me safe, and will certainly deliver me because I am Your dear child. Amen.
