James 2:5- Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
Young boy Mark loves motorcycles. His dad promised to give him one for his birthday, but he had to wait a month for it. He used to look at that model in the showroom and imagine owning it. He liked and loved that motorcycle. When he's with his friends, he talks about his favourite bike, sharing in-depth about the bike. He can't stop thinking about it.
We are not different from Mark. In life, we often hear many questions like: Did you finish studying? Did you complete your assignments? Have you applied for professional courses? How well you are prepared for exams?
When are you getting married? When will you buy a house? Do you have a car?... These questions can distract us from focusing on what truly matters and what we need to choose.
Luke 10:42 - but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.
Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Many are called, but few are chosen. Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ.
Let us respond to his decision to love God more than anything in this world and become heirs of His kingdom.
