- 23 Sep 2024 Read: Psalm 30: 1-12
Verse: "...I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you." (II Kings 20: 5).
Never does our Lord ignore or abandon the prayers of His dear children - especially the prayer offered by His children with broken hearts and tear-filled eyes. In Psalm 56: 8, David pleads with the Lord saying, "Put thou my tears into thy bottle." Imagine how many tears David must have shed that he asked the Lord to store them in His bottle! And how much of agony must he have undergone!
Dear friends, let us not be disheartened as we walk through the valley of suffering and sickness, because these are the days when God is so close to us. Instead of looking at the problems, let us open our spiritual eyes and see our gracious God walking along with us. He has promised in Joshua 1: 5, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you." And in Deuteronomy 31: 6, He has promised, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." He who has promised is faithful. So let us trust in His unfailing love, hold on to His promises and come out victoriously.
Prayer: Almighty God, as I walk through this path of suffering, I trust You and hold on to You with hope. I am confident that these trials are only for a short period, and that your grace surrounds me, keeps me safe, and will certainly deliver me because I am Your dear child. Amen.
