Wednesday, January 29 || PRAY FOR EVERYONE – ESPECIALLY GOD’S SERVANTS

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, ... I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” - Ephesians 6: 19

The greatest ministry that any Christian can have is the ministry of intercession.  Great soldiers of Christ throughout the ages have won great battles on their knees. “It is on our knees that we see God’s hands stretched out for a lost and dying world,” writes Sammy Tippit.  Samuel Chadwick said, “There is no power like that of prevailing prayer … it turns ordinary mortals into men of power.”  If we study the history of the Church we will discover that revival occurred when God’s people prayed.  Even today, the Spirit of God is searching the entire earth to find a man or a woman who will seek His face above all else.  However, intercession is not a glamorous ministry.  The one who prays for the multitudes will never be known by men.  But he/she will certainly be known well by the Father.  We hear of the Moodys and the Billy Grahams, but seldom about common ordinary people who have prayed for these great evangelists.

Dear friends, let us yearn to be intercessors more than anything else. Let us see the multitude as Jesus saw them. Let our hearts break and let us start praying with the compassion of Christ. And on hearing our prayers, the Lord will raise up an army of laborers who will toil to build God’s kingdom here on earth. Let us also pray that the Lord should use His servants effectively as they open their mouths and preach the good news.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, let my praying shake the nations, awaken the Church and raise up a host of workers for Your kingdom who will lead the perishing souls to eternal life. I submit myself to be used by You to pray for Your saints. Amen.
