LIFE IS CHALLENGING – FACE IT WITH JESUS
“... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:20
Many people think that all their problems would be solved if they become Christians. The truth is that being a Christian or becoming a Christian does not guarantee us a trouble-free life. The apostle Paul frequently encountered troubles and difficulties as he worked for Christ. But God does promise that in the midst of troubles, He will be with us to help us and strengthen us and give us special wisdom to deal with any situation. Through Isaiah 43:1-2,5 He says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through rivers, they will not sweep over you. ... Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” Next, God promises to give us peace in the midst of life’s storms. When we learn to trust our future into His hands, then we know that we do not need to be anxious and worried about the outcome. Philippians 4:6, 7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Finally, God gives us hope for the future. Even when our lives seem to be engulfed with troubles, we know there is a bright future ahead for all those who have accepted Christ as their Savior.
So dear friends, let us not be carried away when someone says that Christianity is a bed of roses. Jesus Himself told, ‘In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’ Jesus also underwent sufferings, but since He overcame, we will also be more than conquerors. PRAYER: Dear Lord, let me not deceive myself that Christian life is a trouble-free life. In Acts 14:22 Paul says, “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” So let me take hold of Your promises and carry on my spiritual journey, assured of victory. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
