“But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.” - Mark 16: 4
We wish you all a Happy Easter. May our Resurrected Lord fill our hearts with hope and joy, and help us to experience the power of His resurrection every day of our lives.

After the Sabbath, at the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome took spices and went to the tomb where Jesus was kept. Yet as they were near the place of burial, the practical difficulty of moving the heavy stone which sealed His tomb brought them great anxiety and fear. But when they looked on, they saw that the large stone had been rolled away. They were amazed.
Dear friends, the stone which the enemies thought they had made sure would hold Jesus in the grave was turned into a throne of triumph with an angel sitting on it! We learn a precious lesson from these verses. How often do we go forth in our life expecting troubles and dread the difficulties that lay ahead, but on reaching the destination we find that God had “rolled away the stone!” There are some “stones” in our life which we can roll away. “Take away the stone,” commanded Jesus at Lazarus’ grave. Some hindrances we can remove, at the Word of the Lord. But some stones are too big for us to roll. What “stone” lies ahead of us? Are we wondering how we will get it rolled away? Are we lying awake all night making plans to remove tomorrow’s obstacle? Let us not walk in fear or be anxious. Be assured, God’s angel will arrive there beforehand and remove the obstacle. Let us not look for stones ahead, but trust in God’s infinite power that can even move the mightiest mountain.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, let me not be anxious and spoil the present joy by asking, “Who will roll away the stone? How will my problem as huge as a mountain be removed?” Help me to go forward undaunted by possible future obstacles. Let my heart be cheered that You will somehow move the stone. Amen.
