Sunday, April 13 || GOD NEEDS US FOR HIS MISSION

Read : Luke 19: 28-38

“... Here I am. Send me!” - Isaiah 6:8

One of the most amazing statements in the Bible is found in Luke 19: 31. The Lord sent two of His disciples to a village and asked them to bring a donkey. If anyone asks anything to them, He instructed them to reply, “The Lord needs it.” Does God ever “need” something? He Himself says about His own needs in Psalm 50: 9-12 - “I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. ... the world is mine and all that is in it.”

But Lord Jesus, though He was rich, yet He became poor for our sake. (II Corinthians 8:9) He owned all things, yet He possessed nothing. He would save sinners and accomplish His work on earth even without us. Yet, He chooses to use us, frail human instruments for His glory.

Dear friends, think of it! The Creator of the universe needs us to fulfill His purpose! Though all powerful and not dependent on any creature, He has chosen to carry out His plans through us, lowly human instruments. When someone asked Francis of Assisi, how he was able to accomplish so much, he replied, “The Lord looked down from heaven and said, “Where can I find the weakest, littlest man on earth?” Then He saw me and said, “I’ve found him. I will work though him. ... He’ll see that I am only using him because of his insignificance.” God has a mission for each of us, which we alone can do, whether it is to build, or teach or heal or give. Whatever it is, let us be ready for the moment He has need for us. He can call us any time to do anything.
