JESUS CHRIST GIVES YOU LIFE ETERNAL!
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6: 23)
Ephesians 2: 1-10 very clearly reveals to us the desperate condition of a sinner and his need for salvation. Verses 1-3 talk of man’s deplorable condition. Verses 4-7 talk about God’s work to make a man alive in Christ, and verses 8-10 talk about salvation. A sinner is a spiritually dead person. As a physically dead man does not feel or know anything so also a spiritually dead man does not understand the things of God. They are foolishness to him. (I Corinthians 2: 14) A sinner is disobedient to God because he yields to the world, to his flesh and to Satan. As a result of his disobedience, the sinner faces the wrath of God. (Ephesians 2: 3) God’s wrath remains on him. (John 3: 36) However hard he tries and whatever means he adopts, the sinner cannot save himself. But the Lord who is full of love, God who is rich in mercy, makes this lifeless man alive, (Ephesians 2: 4) saves him and makes him sit with Christ in the heavenly realms. He gives him new birth. Then, is not salvation the greatest miracle? How does God do this?
Firstly, the Spirit of God convicts the sinner of his sin. John 16: 8 says, “When He (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin, righteousness and judgment. Secondly, God uses His word. II Peter 1:4 says, “He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” After salvation the man is no longer called a sinner, but he becomes a son of God.
Dear friends, this great salvation offered by our Lord Jesus is entirely free. It is only by His grace we are saved. And you need not do any work to earn it or spend any amount of money to buy it. You have to just accept it by faith. Will you receive this great gift right now?PRAYER: Almighty God, I accept that I am a sinner. I disobey You by listening to the lies of Satan. I get so easily compromised to the standard of the world. I yield to the lust of the eye and lust of the flesh. Forgive me. Wash me by the blood of Jesus and accept me as Your child. Amen.
