Fear Not! The Lord Is Your Shepherd! 26 Sep 2024

Read: Psalm 23

Verse: " The Lord is my Shepherd...." (Psalm 23:1)

All of us have various kinds of fear. Psalm 23 is a wonderful Psalm that will drive away our every fear and give us peace. If we are fearful of poverty, the Good Shepherd offers us provision; we will not be in want. If we are fearful of fatigue or being burnt out, He offers us rest and renewal by making us lie down in green pastures. Green pasture is a place of rest. It is also a place of safety. When we are fearful of losing our way, the Good Shepherd offers us direction. He goes in front of us and leads us to the quiet, restful waters. Quiet waters are refreshing spots. They provide us tranquility and relief from all our worries. He restores and revives our souls. When we are fearful of spiritual compromise, the Great Shepherd offers us strength. He guides us in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. When we are fearful of loneliness while walking in the valley of shadow of death, the Gentle Shepherd reassures us. He offers us His companionship and solace. His rod guides, rescues and protects us, and His staff gives us support. If we are fearful of humiliation, the Loving Shepherd offers us honor. He anoints our head with oil. And He exalts us in the presence of our enemies. Surely goodness and love will follow us all the days of our life. He offers us salvation and eternal life. We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Dear friends, why then should we fear? Let us gladly follow the Gentle Shepherd and surrender wholly to His Lordship.

Prayer: Lord Almighty, I have certain areas in my life which I have not yielded to Your Lordship. I surrender them to You today. Let me experience the freedom and joy of living under Your sovereign and loving care. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
